Watchman trampled to death in Valparai

Coimbatore : A 54-year-old watchman, Selvaraj, of an estate bungalow was found dead with serious injuries, suspected to have been inflicted by an elephant, at Kurangumudi in Valparai in the district Monday.

As Selvaraj did not return home this morning after his night duty, his family and other colleagues went to look for him. They found his body on the road near the bungalow, police said.

Police and Forest department officials noticed traces of an elephant’s movement and investigations revealed that Selvaraj was trampled to death while coming on the road.
