Woman kills drunkard husband in Salem district

Unable to bear the torture of her drunkard husband,a 34-year old woman strangulated him to death, after tying his limbs in Mannayakkanpatty in Salem district and surrendered before police early today.

Quoting the woman Dhanalakshmi, police said that her husband Murugesan, a farmer from Mannayakkanpatty, used to come drunk daily
and physically tortured her.

Fed up with this, Dhanalakshmi tied the hands and legs of her husband while he was asleep and strangled him to death with her sari in the early hours of today.

After the murder, Dhanalakshmi walked a distance of two km and surrendered in Valapadi police station, they said.

Police rushed to the house and recovered the body and sent it for postmortem and further investigations are on, police said.
