Coimbatore, September 03 : Reinforcing its long-standing commitment to sustainable agriculture and farmer prosperity, Marico Limited, one of India’s leading FMCG companies, commemorated World Coconut Day 2026 through a comprehensive farmer empowerment programme under Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation (PKF). Held in Kovilpalayam, Coimbatore, the programme brought together nearly 200+ coconut farmers for a day of expert-led training, awareness sessions, and a model farm exposure visit aimed at promoting scientific and sustainable farming practices.

The event focused on strengthening farmers’ capabilities in key areas such as soil health management, integrated farm management, crop resilience, and productivity enhancement. Designed as a highly practical learning experience, the initiative combined classroom-based knowledge sharing with direct field demonstrations, enabling participants to observe and understand the implementation of best-in-class agronomic practices.

The programme commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony attended by distinguished guests including Ms. Satya Naidu from the Marico CSR team, Sasikumar K, Shaji Kumar, Pradeepkumar, and field representatives from the Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation team, former Panchayat President Senthilkumar, and progressive farmers Devi and Shaktivel.

A key highlight of the day was the expert session conducted by N. Dhandapani, who shared insights on scientific cultivation techniques, soil nutrition, and integrated farm management practices that can help improve crop health, resilience, and long-term yields.

The programme culminated in a guided visit to a model coconut farm, where participants gained first-hand exposure to proven sustainable farming techniques, efficient irrigation methods, and crop management practices. To further support farmers in their growth journey, quality coconut seedlings were distributed to all participants at the conclusion of the event.
