Ten days into the CBSE counseling to overcome exam related stress, parents and students have started seeking help to deliver better and make most of the time.

On an average, the counsellors are receiving nearly 50 calls a day from students and teachers. CBSE counsellors have been receiving calls from students keen on managing time and dealing with stress.

“Students have started showing signs of stress, seeking tips on time management. They want us to guide them on how to prepare weightage wise and which subject needs more concentration,” said Roli Tripathi, a CBSE counsellor.

Tripathi has received nearly 15 calls from UP where students wanted her to give tips on how can they deliver by working on preparation and time management.

One father who approached her wanted to know if his son, who is concentrating for 10-12 hours, is efficient in preparation. The counsellors have also started advising a change in routine to students where they should sleep half an hour before midnight.

“We still have a month to go. This is the appropriate time for fixing their body clock. A day before the exam, students should get a sound sleep. Even the diet needs to be taken care of and parents should look after that,” the counsellor said.

Schools in Delhi and NCR have also intensified counselling sessions on campus. Priyanka Mehta, principal, Amity International School, Mayur Vihar, is offering three counsellors for students and parents.

“The anxiety needs to be countered and this is the month where it peaks even among the best performers,” she said.
