India celebrates the 69th anniversary of the day the country got its Constitution today. Republic Day celebrations are usually a grand affair, but this time they particularly stand out with the Narendra Modi government inviting all 10 leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as chief guests.

President Ram Nath Kovind, in his first Republic Day eve speech, talked about how India “truly achieved the ethic of equality among all citizens, irrespective of religion, region or community” when the nation framed and adopted the Constitution.

10:25 AM: The Brahmos Missile System of 881 Missile Regiment displayed during the parade. It is the only Super Sonic Cruise Missile presently available in the world.
