Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in Coonoor

Coonoor and surrounding areas in Nilgiris district was lashed by rains and strong winds yesterday night. Trees and electric poles were uprooted causing power outages. The Highways department is working on clearing the trees and the police have advised the public to refrain from parking their vehicles under the trees.
