Chinnavedampatti Lake, a hidden treasure that’s dried up

THE COVAI POST’S LAKE & LIFE
A 200-acre man-made water body near Saravanamapatti was constructed in 1980’s. The water source for this lake is through the 9 km Rajavaikaal, which is fed with water from a Check Dam in Kanuvai built across the Sanganur stream.
There are 85 species of birds sighted in this lake . The lake has not seen water for more than 10 years because of encroachments.
