Jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakran on Friday launched a frontal attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finance minister Arun Jaitley for misusing IT for political purposes and destroy “our family”.

“But we are not going to be scared and run away,” he thundered from Tuticorin where he was visiting. Last night, IT sleuths searched the residence of Jayalalithaa in Poes Garden and came with specific targets after getting specific inputs after questioning some of the people whose premises were raided earlier last week.

“We know who is behind all these raids,” Dinakaran said charging the EPS and OPS with complicity in the raids in a bid to cement their political position. “People are with us and once the time comes to approach the masses, they will tell who the real party is,” he said adding people will teach a lesson to the traitors.

D Jayakumar responded to Dinakaran’s insinuations and declared that “We have nothing to do with raids, painful as they are for IT persons searching the residence of Amma.”

With heavy security in place, no mass upsurge could take place either in Chennai or in districts, barring few sporadic incidents that the police brought under control within no time.

The attempt to browbeat and scare the IT personnel could not succeed as there were at least 100 police constables put round the Poes Garden. Four new check posts have been set up on the road to vzeda Nilayam, the residence of Jayalalithaa. Senior IPS officials were personally supervising security arrangements on the spot.

As the information flow increases, there are chances of interrogation of Sasikala too inside the prison premises, sources said.

Dinakaran also questioned the prime minister for not visiting Amma in hospital but calling on Karunanidhi earlier this month on November 6.

But the outburst of Dinakaran had no effect on either the state government or the central government agencies that are carrying on with their activities.

It is nothing but vendetta politics, said AIADMK cadres outside the residence of Amma last night before being arrested and removed from the spot by police.

IT searches at Poes Garden ended early Saturday morning.

V Divaharan, brother of Sasikala told media persons that IT department had done its job, It had Sasikala on its scanner since1996.

Last week IT officials carried out one of the biggest raids in the country, searchign 187 locations belonging to Sasikala, her relatives, friends and business associates across four states.

Sasikala’s husband, Natarajan, also was raided by IT sleuths for suspected tax evasions in the last week’s operation. Incidentally he has to serve two year sentence in a car import duty evasion case after Madras High Court confirmed the sentence handed out by a CBI trial court in 2005.
