Hand-wash campaign in Erode to combat H1N1

A campaign to combat H1N1 influenza and dengue virus has been intensified in Erode by promoting the habit of washing hands frequently.
The city municipal corporation has put up a flex banner with the information about the virus and visuals of 12 steps of handwashing. Health workers said hand washing techniques should be followed for effective results.
“The banner was put up since people from across the district visited the Collectorate on Monday for the grievances redress meeting,” they added.
People with symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, body ache and fatigue were asked to visit the nearest government hospital without delay. Also, nilavembu kashayam was distributed to people during the campaign.
