The Rajasthan Police is getting closer to arresting Kolathur inspector M.Munisekar suspected to have accidentally shot Maduravoyal inspector S.Periyapandian in Pali district in the North Indian state a few days ago.

A team of 5 policemen headed by Munisekar and Periyapandian had been to Pali to nan a gang that struck a jewellery shop at Kolathur in Chennai recently.

In their bid to catch the suspects Periyapandian was shot dead. Though it was believed initially that he succumbed to the firing by the burglary gang, reports from Rajasthan suggest that it was a case of accidental firing by Munisekar. The Pali police is said to have received ballastic and forensic reports suggesting that the Kolvathu inspector pulled the trigger and the bullet pierced Periyapandian. He might be arrested after the Pali police receive the final report. The Chennai police are waiting for the forensic findings based on which action would be initiated against Munisekar.
