Pattali Makkal Katchi on Saturday urged Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit to call for a report from the chief minister on allegations of bribery against ministers in the cabinet.

PMK leader and former union health minister Anbumani Ramadoss in a petition to the governor demanded that he call for a report and take action against the corrupt ministers, who are said to have been regularly bribed by mining baron Sekhar Reddy.

He led a delegation of PMK leaders to the Governor. The PMK petition came in the wake of reports that regular payments made to some ministers by Sekhar Reddy.

The PMK listed out various charges against the government and urged Purohit to call for a report from the Chief Minister K.Palaniswami in public interest.

“We also hope that in exercise of your larger constitutional role, you will, if you find Chief Minister’s report unsatisfactory, constitute a fact-finding committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge to go into the issues set out in this representation, ascertain the veracity and order appropriate action,” the petition noted.
