Chennai: The electoral victory of the BJP in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat is expected to happen in Tamil Nadu also, said state party president Tamilisai Soundararajan.

The BJP celebrated the victory distributing sweets and Tamilisai said, “BJP has retained power in Gujarat, a State where it has ruled for over 20 years. The people of the country are happy with the results. When we abolished the Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denomination currencies, some in the Opposition claimed the BJP will also be abolished. It remains a fact that the BJP has only risen further up after demonetisation. We are two times the force we were before the elections,” she said.

The victory was a signal from the people that they welcomed Prime Minister Modi’s plans and the changes he brought about.

“The victory we now see in Gujarat and North India will also be seen in Tamil Nadu soon. BJP’s victory could not be stopped in spite of Rahul Gandhi’s ascendency to Congress top leadership.” Congress tried to play caste and religion cards and people expressed their displeasure, she added.
