On account of Diwali festival an awareness programme was held. The Director of Food Safety Board Mr.Tamilselvan presided over the event. While addressing the gathering, he said, “The manufacturers of sweets and snacks should be cautious in using the preservatives and artificial colors. They must be used in appropriate quantities as suggested and it must not exceed the limit. The workers must maintain personal hygiene and the cleanliness of the workplace should also be ensured”. Food products made of limited preservatives were displayed in the event.
