Doctors for social equality association in Coimbatore has alleged that there is a lot of irregularities in organ transplantations. It is said that the majority of beneficiaries for organs from brain dead patients are foreigners while the list of Indians waiting for transplantation is quite long. The association has demanded CBI enquiry into this issue and has blamed the public health department and corporate hospitals for the irregularities.
