Members belonging to Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena staged a demonstration near Gandhi Park area demanding a ban on Bollywood film Padmaavat.

The Supreme Court, last week, had ordered the release of the movie, directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali. Oringally named Padmavati, the film portrays the life of Rajput Queen Rani Padmavati.

Members of Rajput community have been objecting to the film ever since it was all set for release, saying it showed the character life of Rani Padmavati in a wrong manner. They even threatened to attack the director and physically assault actor Deepika Padukone (who plays the role of the Rajput queen in the film).
