Maoist Veeramani brought for checkup at CMCH

Maoist activist C Veeramani was brought to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital by police for medical assistance and taken back to Central Jail in an hour.

Veeramani was among the five activists arrested in 2015 and remanded in custody by Q branch police in Karumathampatty. According to hospital sources, he was brought to the hospital at 10 am and treated

for piles and bone-related problems. He was brought as part of regular checkup and doctors advised that the treatment be continued.

There was mild furore in the hospital as security had been beefed up as part of Veeramani being brought there.
