Saroja Preiyathambi, a resident of Omalur in Salem district was shocked when she saw the picture of film Actor Kajal Agarwal in the place of hers, in the smart card supplied by the Civil Supplies Department.

Smart Cards were meant to replace paper-based family cards. While the process of distributing the smart cards are on, Civil Supplies Department have endured a range of problems including wrong photographs and names misspelt by the software and the process seems to be witnessing a lot of glitches.

When the officials of the Civil Supplies Department were questioned, they said that the error could have occurred in the printing press. However, there have been also been issues while uploading details on the website also as the site was slow.
