9 dengue, 109 fever cases in CMCH

As many as nine persons are undergoing treatment for dengue fever in special wards and 109 for fever in special wards at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, according to Resident Medical Officer R Soundravel.

There has been a drop in dengue cases compared to the last week as people get admitted once the symptoms are noticed, he said. Also, there was better awareness about dengue among the public, he added.

Hospital sources said that those admitted undergo various blood tests and in case they are found to be afflicted with dengue, they are shifted to special wards.
