121 free gas connections to be given in 2 Coimbatore villages on April 20

Coimbatore : Two villages in the district have been selected for distribution of free gas connections as part of observing Ujjwala Diwas on April 20.
With this, the number of smoke-free villages in the district will rise to 18, where there will be a total of 1,0141 gas connections, Indian Oil Corporation District Nodal Officer S Pratap told reporters here today.

Kanuvaikarai and Thoppampatty were selected for free gas connections that day, he said. It was targeted to have 15,000 LPG panchayats on that day across the country, Pratap said. As many as 50 LPG panchayats would be held in the district where apart from experience-sharing aimed at safe and sustained usage of LPS, all-out efforts would be be made to maximise customer enrollment.
