Coimbatore : BJP National General Secretary, N Muralidhar Rao on Monday said that what happened in West Bengal was not in tune with democracy and Mamataji (Chief Minister) was fighting a losing battle.

Not giving permission to BJP leaders to hold rallies in Bengal, if this happens to those parties from Tamil Nadu (without naming DMK) they will also understand what is democracy, he said.

Stating that BJP was fighting for democracy, he said that protecting the scamsters and protecting fraudsters is not going to enhance the reputation of the adversaries and enemies of BJP.

“BJP is against any kind of corruption and we will fight it tooth and nail”, Rao said adding that Mamataji was fighting a losing battle as the people will never accept the protection of scamsters”.

When pointed out about the criticism against the Centre by MDMK General Secretary, Vaiko on allowing Karnataka to construct dam across Mekedatu, Rao said that he was a perpetual fighter.

He (Vaiko) had spoken not only against BJP, but also against AIADMK, DMK and Congress in the past, he said.

Rao said that he was here as part of a preparatory meeting for the massive public meeting by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi scheduled near Tirupur on February 10.
