Chennai : Not taking his ‘bargaining with both sides lightly, the DMK on Wednesday dumped Captain Vijayakanth and told his representatives that the DMK-led coalition was “housefull.”

Senior DMK leader S Duraimurugan told two DMDK representatives waiting for him at his residence for talks that his party was not happy with the tone and tenor of the conversations they were having. If the DMDK people are bargaining and creating an impression that the other side was giving them more, then the DMK cannot deal with such a narrative. Besides, the coalition was full and the DMK has already released all the 39 seats that have been decided.

So, the DMDK is now left with nothing other than going to the coalition led by AIADMK. In fact, both the sides were wooing Captain Vijayakanth for his 5 percent vote share. In fact, Jayalalithaa could return to power ejecting the DMK with the help of Vijayakanth in 2011. Shortly afterward, the alliance broke down and Viayakanth quit the alliance and in the 2016 general elections, he drew a blank.

Still, in the tough fight for general elections, every vote counted, and this was the reason why Captian Vijayakanth was being wooed by both the AIADMK and the DMK formations.

On Wednesday, the AIADMK, PMK, and BJP had kept Vijayakanth’s cutouts neat the rally Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed. But since Captain Vijayakanth kept everyone guessing, the space for his cut out was filled by a cut out of state BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Likewise, in the place of flags of DMDK, the BJP put up its flags.

Meanwhile, Sutheesh, brother-in-law off Captain Vijayakanth was meeting Piyush Goyal and sources said that in all likelihood the DMDK will be going with AIADMK led alliance.

Quipped political analysts, now it is a Hobson’s choice for Captain Vijayakanth.
