Siruthuli trustee wins the first Abdul Kalam Seva Ratna Award

Siruthuli Managing Trustee, Vanitha Mohan was honoured with the first ever Abdul Kalam Seva Ratna Award in the category of “revival of water bodies”. The award was handed over by Dalai Lama. Reviving water bodies was one of Dr. Kalam’s much cherised dreams.

Other categories included planting trees, health, safe drinking water, and de-addiction. The winners were given Rs.1 lakh in cash, a gold medal, 10 grams gold coin, and a certificate.

The award ceremony was conducted at Chennai Music Academy. D.S. Krishnamoorthy, the Election Commissioner, organized a team to revive the water bodies, and ground water replenishing.
