The 22nd Graduation Ceremony of PSG College of Physiotherapy was conducted with great academic dignity and pride on Friday, 19th December 2025, at the PSG ISM&R Auditorium. The Chief Guest, Dr. M. Hamsraj, Director & Chief Consultant, Physiocare Physiotherapy Centre, Chennai, graced the event. He is a senior sports and orthopaedic physiotherapist in Chennai with over 30 years of experience. He is known for treating elite athletes, including Rahul Dravid, and for mentoring more than 300 physiotherapists across India. A doctorate holder from the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, he currently serves as Senior Physiotherapist at Physio Care and is a recipient of a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the Indian Association of Physiotherapists.
The prestigious event was also graced by the presence of distinguished guests, parents, faculty members and alumni. The ceremony marked a momentous milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students, symbolizing the successful culmination of years spent in rigorous learning, clinical training, and professional development.
The programme commenced with a solemn invocation. This was followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Prof. R. Mahesh, Principal, PSG College of Physiotherapy. Shri L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the event.
The highlight of the ceremony was the Conferment of Degrees, followed by the Convocation Address delivered by the Chief Guest, Dr. M. Hamsraj. In his inspiring and thought-provoking address, he shared his professional experiences of working with eminent personalities such as Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and A. R. Rahman. He advised the graduating students to adopt five fundamental practices for a healthy and successful professional life—maintaining correct posture and body alignment, ensuring adequate water intake, following balanced nutrition, engaging in regular physical activity, and prioritising proper sleep patterns. He further encouraged the students to have confidence in their own thought processes and decision-making abilities as they progress in their careers.
A total of 141 undergraduate and 12 postgraduate students, including 13 gold medalists & 17 silver medalists, received their certificates and medals. The ceremony featured the Distribution of Awards, recognizing students for outstanding performance in internships, subject-specific excellence, and overall academic achievements during their course of study.
The Best Outgoing Award was presented to undergraduate candidates who excelled in curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. The awardees were Anu Valliammai A.L., Subhashini A., Saliha H., and Indumathy P. In the postgraduate category, an award for overall academic excellence was given to Aishwarya Shamini. M.
These awards served as an encouragement for the graduates to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavors.
The oath of professionalism was administered by Prof. Y. Ashraf, Vice Principal of the college.
A Response from the Best Outgoing Graduates expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the management of PSG Institutions, the faculty members, and their parents for their constant support, guidance, and encouragement throughout their academic journey.
Marking the silver Jubilee celebrations, PSG College of Physiotherapy published its e- Magazine- PRIDE-2025’. The inaugural issue was released by the Trustee after which Formal magazine release photographs were taken.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Prof. P. Shanmugapriya. The event concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.
The 22nd Graduation Ceremony of PSG College of Physiotherapy will be remembered as a proud and joyous occasion, celebrating the transformation of students into skilled, ethical, and responsible physiotherapy professionals ready to serve society and the healthcare fraternity with dedication and compassion.
