The final match to be held today (30.08.2026) in Men team Chennai – Rest of Tamil Nadu team, New Delhi ONGC team, Women South Central Railway team and South Western Railway team entered finals

Coimbatore, August 30, 2026 – The 60th Men’s and 1st Women’s PSG trophy All India Basketball Tournaments are being held at the Coimbatore PSG College campus from August 26. The tournament will be held for 5 days till August 30.

The best teams renowned across India are participating in these All India level tournaments. In the men’s category, 1) Indian Bank – Tamil Nadu, 2) Indian Air Force – Delhi, 3) Indian Navy – Lonavala, 4) ONGC – Delhi, 5) Kerala State Electricity Board, 6) Hindustan University – Chennai and 7) Tamil Nadu Others team, who won the state competition, are the 7 teams participating, while in the women’s category, 1) South Central Railway – Secunderabad, 2) South Western Railway – Hubli and 3) Chalakudy – Sacred Heart College teams and 4) Coimbatore District Women’s Team are participating.

In the men’s semi-final match held yesterday (29.08.2026), the Chennai – Rest of Tamil Nadu team played against the Thiruvananthapuram – Kerala State Electricity Board team. In this, the Rest of Tamil Nadu team won by a score of 76 / 67. With this, the Chennai Rest of Tamil Nadu team qualified for the final match to be held today (30.08.2026).

In the second match, Chennai – Indian Bank team played against New Delhi – ONGC team. In this, ONGC team won by a score of 73 / 71. With this, ONGC team qualified for the final match.

In women’s category, Coimbatore District Basketball Association team played against Secunderabad – South Western Railway team. In this, South Western Railway won by a score of 62 / 34. With this, South Western Railway team qualified for the final match to be held today (30.08.2026).

In the second match, Secunderabad – South Central Railway team played against Chalakudy – Sacred Heart College team. In this, South Central Railway team won by a score of 68 / 46. With this, South Central Railway team qualified for the final match.

The winning men’s team in the final match to be held today (30.08.2026) evening will be awarded the first prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- and a trophy, the second placed team will be awarded Rs. 75,000/- and a trophy, the third placed team will be awarded Rs. 40,000/-, the fourth placed team will be awarded Rs. 30,000/- and the best sportsman will be awarded Rs. 10,000/-.

In the women’s match, the first prize will be Rs. 75,000/- and a trophy, the second prize will be Rs. 50,000/- and a trophy, the third and fourth placed teams will be awarded Rs. 25,000/- each and the best sportsman will be awarded Rs. 10,000/-, for a total prize money of Rs. 4,35,000/-.

In addition, special cash awards will be given to former basketball players who studied at PSG colleges and to students who have achieved success at the Indian level studying at PSG educational institutions. The total prize money is Rs. 6 lakh.

The prize distribution ceremony to be held today (August 30) will be presided over by Mr. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG Institutions, Dr. M. Manickam, Chairman of Shakti Group, and Mr. G. Selvaraj, Managing Director of CRI Pumps and President of Coimbatore District Basketball Association, will be the special guests.

The President of the Basketball Federation of India, President of the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association and Minister of Public Works and Sports Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, Hon. Mr. Aadhaav Arjuna will be the special guest at the prize distribution ceremony will present prizes to the winning teams and players.
