Sexual assault on woman; search on for intruder

A 24-year-old engineer was sexually assaulted in her room, at a working women’s hostel, by an intruder. Search is on for the culprit. The man had entered her room after midnight of July 27. He stifled her cries by stuffing a cloth in her mouth and then, sexually assaulted her. The woman had sustained injuries on her face and neck during the attack.
Police believe that the intruder might be known to some of the hostel inmates due to the fact that he had entered the building very easily without raising suspicion, and have launched their investigations.
