Karunanidhi to celebrate 93rd birthday on June 3

The president of the DMK, and five time chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi turns 93 on Friday. The DMK party cadres are all set to celebrate his birthday with fanfare tomorrow.

His itinerary tomorrow includes visits to the memorials of C.N. Annadurai and Periyar E.V. Ramasamy in the morning, and a meeting in the evening at YMCA grounds. Party cadres all over the state have planned to hold social feasts and events like musical shows and rallies to celebrate the occasion.

Muthuvel Karunanidhi was born in Thiruvarur on June 3, 1924. He is easily one of the oldest politicians in the country. In addition to becoming the Chief Minister of the state for five terms, he also has won all the elections that he had contested since 1957, ten years after India gained its Independence.
