In order to take the various schemes of the Central Government to the common man, the Indian Chamber of Commerce has requested the Central Government to broadcast its advertisements in regional languages.
Addressing an interaction session attended by Union Minister for Broadcasting Prakesh Javadekar on Tuesday, D. Nandakumar, President of Indian Chambers of Commerce claimed that the ads were not reaching people since they were largely broadcast in Hindi.
He also requested the Minister to provide various development projects, which were made by the industrialists and had been pending for long.
“We need better air connectivity and the immediate demand is a direct flight to Dubai from here. The Centre should also speed up the airport expansion project,” he said.
Calling for a National Investment and Manufacturing Zone at Coimbatore, Nandakumar also asked for a Blue Collar Township; A Central University; extension of Technology Upgradation Fund (TUF) for Engineering Industry and a formation of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for effective implementation of projects of Smart City at Coimbatore.
He further requested the implementation of Mass Road Transport System so as to ease traffic in the city.
“We also require a night train between Bengaluru and Coimbatore and the extension of lanes on the Mettupalayam and Dindugal- Sathy National Highways,” said Nandakumar.
