Police are on the lookout for a person, who along with his wife, tried to cheat a private hospital, posing as insurance officials of a leading bank in Coimbatore.

According to the police, Karthik and his wife Radhika had approached the hospital on Tiruchirapalli Road in Coimbatore, and detailed about the various new insurance schemes introduced by his bank.

After much persuasion, a few doctors agreed to join the scheme and asked the duo to collect Rs.2.5 lakhs worth cheque two days later. But some doctors, who grew suspicious of the couple’s behaviour, decided to cross check with the bank, and came to know that Karthik was dismissed from the bank following a series of complaints against him.

Unaware of this, Karthik asked Radhika to collect the cheque, while he waited outside in a car. The doctors caught hold of Radhika and handed her over to police last evening. Realising that his game was up, Karthik fled the scene, and is at large.

Initial inquiry have revealed that the couple was living a very lavish lifestyle, in a Rs.25,000 per month rented house, with two cars.
