School students found in inebriated condition at 10 in the morning

The district administration is investigating an incident where four school students were found loitering in an inebriated condition in Valparai, some 70 KMs from Coimbatore.

The government-school students, in their uniforms, were found wandering near the bus stand under the influence of liquor, yesterday morning at 10 AM. People noticed that one student was struggling to even stand properly, while others were helping him to stand. The happenings were captured by many in their mobile phones.

By the time the police reached the spot, the students managed to escape.

Investigations are on as to how they got the liquor so early morning, when the TASMAC outlets were open only after 12 noon. The school management is also inquiring with all the students about the incident, police added.
