Cash and offerings stolen from Coimbatore church

Miscreants broke open two offering boxes, in a church in the heart of Coimbatore city, and removed the offerings, including cash and kind, in the early hours of today.

Hearing some peculiar sound on the campus of church on Dr. Nanjappa Road, the church authorities called in the police, who rushed to the spot. They noticed two boxes broke open and an attempt made to break open the third one.

The boxes were likely to have reasonable amounts of collection, as large number of devotees attended the masses and offered cash and kind, yesterday being Sunday. Police are examining the CCTV footage from the camera installed on the campus.
