PMK distributes tree saplings as part of green initiative

Thanjavur: The volunteers of Pasumai Thaayagam (Green Motherland), a non- governmental organization affiliated to Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), distributed saplings to public in the old bus stand area of Thanjavur today, as part of its green initiative.

The NGO volunteers, led by the PMK state executive member Kunchithapadam, distributed saplings and environmental awareness pamphlets to the public in old bus stand area in Thanjavur. Also present at the event were PMK district treasurer Renuka Govindarajan, union secretary Vaduvayya, and constituent in-charge Gopichandar.

Kunchithapadam urged the government to constitute special departments, including a state wetland board and a biodiversity management committee, to preserve the environment.
