Thanjavur: Notorious rowdies, Rajendran, 56, resident of Anna Nagar, Pattukottai, and Prabakaran, 25, resident of Majid Road, Sivanganga, were detained under the Goondas Act, as per the orders of Collector A Annadurai, for disturbing public order and peace.

Based on the recommendations made by SP J Mahesh and relevant documents produced by Inspector K Singaravel of Thiruchitrambalam Police Station, the collector ordered the detention of the duo as goondas under Section of 3 (i) of Tamil Nadu Act 14/1982.

Subsequently, they were lodged at the central prison in Trichy.
