As part of the Happy Child Project, 6,000 children from 41 elementary schools were trained on anger management, how to stay happy and also how to help their elders. Along with this, good touch and bad touch was explained and self evaluation booklets on hygiene were given to the students.

About 120 students from the Ramakrishna College of Arts And Science For Women completed the two day project, under the supervision of Latha Sundaram, Managing Trustee of Aram Foundation Charitable Trust.

Latha said, “Happiness in childhood is what determines children’s future and makes them responsible citizens.” The trust’s helpline number and the corporation helpline number were also made available to students in case they felt they needed help.

Corporation Commissioner K Vijayakarthikeyan said, “It is an essential awareness programme which will be very helpful to all students. It will help them shape their character with confidence and also enable them to have a happy childhood.”
