Chennai: PMK Founder S. Ramadoss on Thursday urged the State government to register a police complaint on the death of J. Jayalalithaa and transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

He was reacting to the statement made by acting Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on setting up of an inquiry commission headed by a sitting Supreme Court judge to probe the circumstances that led to Jayalalithaa’s death.

In a statement issued here, Ramadoss said the Supreme Court had held earlier that it would depute a sitting judge to probe issues that are connected with national security and not ordinary issues.

Ramadoss said the correct approach will be to register a case and transfer that to CBI for probe.

Late Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalithaa died on Dec 5, 2016 after being admitted in Apollo Hospitals for 75 days.
