11 accused in dalit boy’s murder produced in court

All the 11, accused in the murder of a Dalit youth were produced before the Principal District Judge, Tirupur.

Shankar a Dalit youth was hacked to death at the Udumalpet bus stand on March 13 by a three-member gang, who were opposed to his wedding to Kausalya.

Eleven people, including Kausalya’s parents, were arrested for the crime that was said to be an honour killing.

The case was earlier heard in the Udumalpet court and was later shifted to Tirupur court after giving the charge sheet to the accused.

The eleven will again be produced in the court on June 13.
