Coimbatore : As many as 26 workers of Tamizhar Vidiyal Katchi, a fringe outfit, were arrested today when they attempted to lay siege of KFC outlet here on grounds of the role of the US in the genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka during this month in 2009.
The cadres were holding placards like “We want Taml Eelam, Boycott KFC and Pepsi, India-America-Sri Lanka partners in Tamil genocide”. They raised slogans against US outlet, police said.
The outfit was demanding an international probe into the genocide.Twenty six workers were arrested, police said.
