3 lakh cash, 70 sovereign jewels stolen from locked house

Unidentified men broke open a house at Pollachi and made away with 70 sovereigns jewels and Rs. 3 lakh cash.
According to police, the owner of the house, Porkodi went to Udumalaipet with her sister on May 9. Taking advantage of her absence the miscreants broke open the door and decamped with the valuables and cash.
The burglary came to light when Porkodi’s neighbours saw the front door broken. They immediately informed Porkodi, who rushed back home.
Based on her complaint, police visited the crime spot along with finger print experts. Investigations are on.
