80-year old tribal trampled to death

An 80-year old tribal was found trampled to death in a forest area coming under Madukkarai forest division near here.

According to police, the tribal, Karatti, had gone to the Solakkarai forest to collect fodder for his goats last evening, but did not return home.

His relatives made futile attempt to trace him.

His body was found this morning, police said, adding it bore marks of trampling by an elephant.

Forest department and police personnel rushed to the spot and retrieved the body and sent it for postmortem to the Government Hospital.
