Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Sunday said she had a rebirth owing to the prayers of people from across the world.

In a statement issued here, Jayalalithaa also said she is waiting to resume normal duties after getting well soon with God’s grace.

The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital for fever and dehydration on September 22.

The doctors later said she needed a longer stay at the hospital as she was suffering from infection and put her on respiratory support. According to Apollo Hospitals, a team of specialist doctors – cardiologists, respiratory physicians, consultants for infectious diseases, diabetologist and endocrinologist – treated her.

Jayalalithaa urged the AIADMK party men to work hard so that the party candidates win the upcoming November 19 assembly elections in Aravakuruchi, Thanjavur and Thiruparankundram constituencies in Tamil Nadu and the Nellithope constituency in Puducherry.
