Abductor detained under Goondas Act

An accused allegedly involved in waylay robbery and abduction for ransom and lodged in the Central jail here was detained under Goondas Act.
According to police, Bhoopalan was arrested on November 22 last year on charges of waylaying a person and relieving him of money at knife point. He was lodged in the Central Jail.
As he had been involved in various such cases, including abduction for ransom since 2014, the City Police Commissioner ordered his detention under Goondas Act, which was served on him last night, they said.
