Following a tie-up between the two companies, American Express, one of the largest card issuers, will be the first card to be accepted on the central pay platform of mobility solutions provider, Uber, in India.

“Our corporate card programme is considered as a preferred expense management solution by the world’s leading businesses. This new initiative with Uber in India will further bolster our value proposition,” said Saru Kaushal, Country Business Head, Global Corporate Payments, American Express India.

Companies using the American Express Corporate Card Program will be able to leverage Uber’s global presence, allowing employees to use ‘Uber for Business’, its platform for corporate clients, in any of the 70 countries in which Uber operates. The billing would be done at the company account, back in India, and offers sign-up bonus and usage based benefits.

Arjun Nohwar, APAC Head for Uber for Business said, “We have over 50,000 businesses worldwide that use Uber for Business for their mobility solutions and it has proved to be a more affordable and efficient transportation option for them. We’re extremely happy to partner with American Express and look forward to giving their clients a reliable, convenient and economical ride.”
