Even as the city police arrested three persons in connection with the TV cameraman attack case, the members of the Coimbatore Press Club staged a demonstration near the South Taluk office stating that the real culprits were still at large, here on Friday.

The police on Friday arrested three persons, Thirumurthy (38), Shanmugham (35) and Kumar (48) for assaulting Sun TV cameraman Krishna on Wednesday. However, alleging that the police have arrested the wrong persons, CPC members alleged that there was no connection between the arrested persons and the case.

One of the members further claimed that Krishna himself has identified the persons as not involved in the assault and further demanded that the real culprits should soon be arrested.
“The police are handling the case with partiality and this would not help sustain justice,” said a member.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that various media associations are soon to protest in various parts of the state demanding justice in the case.
