A school to hone skills in wheel pottery and sculpting has been launched in Coimbatore.

The main idea behind starting Simply Arts Studio is to bring traditional arts closer to people. As part of this, the studio offers courses to introduce budding artists to the basics in pottery. It includes pot-making using wheels and also sculpting techniques like building shapes and mural painting, studio founder Dhinakar Perumal told mediapersons here today.

Besides, there will be courses in Tanjore painting using actual gold foils and sketching and painting, mainly for children. This should make art lovers and the public get a taste of traditional arts, he added.
