Coimbatore : Demanding implementation it’s charter of various demands, All India Bank Officers Assocaition (AIBOA) is to go on a nationwide strike, the date of which will be announced later.

The demands include fixation of wages as per minimum wages formula of theInternational Labour Organisation and adopted by the Seventh Central Pay Commission.

The wages should be suitable for the risk, responsibility, transferability and accountability of officers without linking them to paying capacity of the banks, an AIBOA statement said on Monday

Wage revision should be negotiated for all cadre in the banking sector, as presently some of the banks had given mandate to Indian Banks Association to negotiate wage revision only up to senior manager scale.

It would mean dividing the workforce and hence industry-level negotiations should be for all bank officers.

The medical insurance scheme existing in banks should be improved to match with the scheme prevailing in State Bank of India, the release said. There should be running scale of pay for officers without any stagnation as promotion was dependent on various external factors.

Officers also wanted immediate updation of pension structure matching reality.
