Futura’17, Bannari Amman Institute of technology’s three-day techno-cultural fest and project design contest, concluded on Saturday.
The project design contest, organised in association with Make in India initiative of the Government of India, was held in three domains – socio-environment, industry and software. At the national-level contest 384 projects were displayed.
During the valedictory function, guest of honour Dr Neeraj Saxena, scientist at TIFAC, said, “The present education system is holding back the potential of the students which has to be rectified.”
Event chief guest Dr (Prof) Lazar Mathew, former Director of DRDO, said students should explore avenues of entrepreneurship.
A total prize money of Rs 20 lakhs was distributed to winners of various competitions.
‘Inspire’, an event for school students, was also part of FUTURA where 73 schools from eight districts participated. The Overall Trophy for the school events was won by BVB Matriculation School, Erode
