Solar scam accused Sarita Nair today claimed that she was receiving many calls from Congress leaders, industrialists and owners of educational institutions, asking not implicate Kerala Chief Minister, Oomen Chandy.

She added that he was not going to escape in the case. Sarita, here to appear before a judicial court, in connection with a cheating case, told reporters that she had revealed Chandy’s name only after he refused to return the Rs.1.90 crore she had given to him as promised, some two years ago.

She had already submitted the evidence and documents in digital form to the Shivarajan Commission on February 7, following which many Congress leaders and industrialists were contacting her not to speak against Chandy, Sarita claimed.

She had not sought any police protection despite having received many threat calls, she said, adding that she had 27 cases against her in Kerala and two here.

Stating that the solar issue would have serious negative impact on Congress in the Assembly election in Kerala, Sarita denied that she was being instigated by the leaders of Left parties.

Chandy had to step down after the completion of trial by the Commission, as the case would go against the Chief Minister, she said.
