Candidates on motor cycle campaigns

Coimbatore : DMK and Makkal Neethi Maiam (MNM) Friday chose to carry out the last day’s campaign through motorcycle rallies in Sulur assembly constituency which goes to poll on May 19.

MNM, which pinned hope on the campaign by its leader Kamal Hassan, was totally disappointed over the police denying permission to him citing security reasons because of his Nathu Ram Godse controversial remarks.

Already, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, K Palanisamy, DMK president, M K Stalin, Kamal Hassan CPI, CPIM and Congress leaders had campaigned in the constituency.

DMK candidate Pongalur N Palanisamy campaigned in an open jeep, while more than 300 party workers followed him on motorcycles, covering almost 50 KMs.

Similarly,MNM candidatge, G Mayilsamy also preferred to tour the major areas,with nearly 150 workers following him on motorcycles. .

The candidates of AIADMK and Naam Tamil Katchi also rushed through the constituency seeking votes.
