More than 100 people are feared dead in a quake that rattled Southwest China on Tuesday night, was one of the major news that shook the world this morning.

However, a Hindu almanac of 2016-17 had predicted that China will witness a huge loss of human life in the month of August.

The almanac, Arcot Panchangam – which had predicted demonetisation, Vardah cyclone, jallikattu protests, political turmoil and other catastrophe – has also predicted huge loss of lives in Pakistan too in the days to come.
A strong 6.5 magnitude struck the Jiuzhaigou county in China leaving 1,30,000 houses damaged and rendering lakhs of people homeless.

The earlier predictions were quite accurate. On December 13, 2016 Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts in Tamilnadu were hit by cyclone Vardha. The wind speed of that cyclone was about 120 to 130 kmph.

Speaking to Covai Post earlier, Astrologer K.N. Narayana Moorthy said, “Usually it takes three months to complete the writing of a panchangam. Predictions in the Panchangam are written from experience and planetary movements,” he said adding that Arcot writing of Panchangam for 2018 – 2019 was in progress.”
