A day after Covai Post reported about the poor maintenance of the Senior Citizens Park near Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore, Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan on Tuesday inspected the park.

The Covai Post, on Monday, reported that the park had not been maintained properly. The report also highlighted the bad conditions of lights and toilets in the park, making it difficult for the senior citizens to use it.

Further, some of the trees planted in memory of people have also been cut off. The Corporation Commissioner himself had planted two saplings in the park, along with the former Commissioner, Anshul Mishra, and India’s first Field Marshall, Late Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw.

Following the report, the Commissioner had inspected the park and directed the officials to check on various aspects including the lights and cleanliness of the park. He also inspected the sapling plated by him in the park.
