This one was dedicated to the cycling and running enthusiasts. Rightly called Dualthlon, this event was organized by city based groups Coimbatore Cycling and Coimbatore Runners. “Hitherto we have had individual events for cycling. We decided to give participants an opportunity to get the best of the two. Thus, we organized the dualthlon and we are happy with the response we have received.” Chakravarthy Birur, co-founder of Coimbatore Cycling says.

This was not a contest to begin with. It was an event that was open to all. Around 45 people participated. The youngest of them was 16, while a 51 year old lady was the oldest. All the participants completed the dualthlon.

The dualthlon was flagged off from Jenny’s Residency on Avinashi Road. Participants ran around the Codissia trade fair complex and they were back to Jenny’s Residency. They covered a distance of five kilometres. From here participants cycled a total distance of 40 kilometres to Jansons Business School located in Karumathampatti and they were back to Jenny’s again.

As the last leg of the dualthlon they ran from start point Jenny’s Residency to Codissia trade fair complex and they were back to where they started from.

Breakfast was served to allparticipants. There were no prizes but all the 45 participants were given medals for successfully completing the dualthlon.
